Journals and Other Publications

  • Directory of Open Access Journals: A collection of publicly available scholarly journals in all subject areas. The above link should take you to the list of journals related to linguistics. Please note: this is an international site, so many of the journals are not in English.
  • The Linguist List: The Linguist List is dedicated to providing information on language and language analysis, and to providing the discipline of linguistics with the infrastructure necessary to function in the digital world. Linguist is a free resource, run by linguistics professors and graduate students, and supported primarily by your donations.

More Study Resources

  • The IPA Keyboard: A clickable IPA chart. Just click on the symbols you need then cut and paste them into your document. Much better than looking through the special character list for that elusive [æ].
  • Syntax Tree Editor: A software program that allows you to create, save, and edit syntax trees with a point-and-click interface. You can also export the trees as images for use in Word, etc.
