Missoula College Student Success

The table below outlines which Maplesoft math placement test Missoula College students need for their specific Missoula College degree, and is based off of degree requirements outlined in the UM Catalog. (Click on the name of the individual degree name in the table to link to that degree's course requirements.)

This table is not meant to replace having a conversation with your advisor, as they may have specific recommendations for you based on your previous mathematics experiences. The Missoula College technical certificates not included in the list below do not have math course requirements.

For Missoula College's degrees, M01 is used to place students into either M 115 or M 105. M02 Algebra is designed to place students into M 121 (or higher).

IMPORTANT: Students who take the M02 Algebra test, but do not score at least a 12 (the minimum score required for M 121 College Algebra), must then take M01 to place into the appropriate preparation (prerequisite) course for M 121.
