Join us for the 5th annual Rocky Mountain Wildfire Smoke Symposium. This year’s Symposium will be a hybrid event with in-person activities at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. We welcome anyone invested in discussing a future with wildfires, including researchers, public health professionals, community and government employees, and concerned citizens. Local and regional experts will lead sessions on: · The health impacts of wildfires · Community strategies for mitigating wildfire smoke exposure · Adaptation strategies for living with more fire |
Dates: Thursday, October 17th from 8am - 7pm & Friday, October 18th from 8am - 1pm
Location: In person at the University of Montana's University Center Ballroom; virtual option will be available

Keynote speaker: Dr. Steve Running, Professor Emeritus of Ecosystem and Conservation Sciences at the University of Montana
Lodging: The Double Tree Hotel by Hilton in Missoula, MT
For in-person attendees: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided on Thursday and Friday, along with appetizers and happy hour following the afternoon session on Thursday
We will offer opportunities for sponsorship, including tabling and advertising at the in-person sessions.
