Description
This training will provide an overview of the essentials of public health communication - press relations, social media management, public communication, organizing and scheduling.
Attendees will learn skills that will allow them to:
1) understand the basics of developing a communication plan
2) develop strategies for dealing with media
3) integrate social media into a public health communication strategy
4) manage communication planning
Trainer Information
Andy Spears
Andy Spears is a Communication Specialist for the CDC Foundation. He has previous experience working in Tennessee state government on education and public safety issues. He has served as a press secretary and departmental spokesperson. Andy holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and has worked with nonprofit groups to develop and executive public communication strategies.
