Rural Institute Core Grant

Supporting disability-related education, research and services

The Rural Institute is a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD).

Our “core” grant supports our Research, Service, Evaluation, and Education programs.

UCEDDs leverage their funding to partner with federal, state, and local resources.

UCEDDs provide:

  • Training and education
  • Services and supports
  • Research and evaluation
  • Information dissemination

UCEDDs are authorized under Public Law 106-402 (The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 or "DD Act"). UCEDD funding is administered by the Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at the U.S. Administration for Community Living.
