The Magnetic Resonance Core Facility

The Magnetic Resonance Core Facility at UM is equipped with 500 and 600 MHz Varian NMR systems and a  Bruker EMC Plus EPR spectrometer. The 600 MHz NMR spectrometer is equipped with four channels, z-axis gradients, and a triple resonance probe. This spectrometer is devoted primarily to biomolecular applications. The 500 MHz NMR spectrometer is equipped with three channels, three-axis gradients, direct and indirect broadband probes, an HCN triple resonance probe and accessories for magic angle spinning (MAS). It is available for general chemical applications as well as for biomolecular studies.

Macromolecular X-ray Diffraction Facility

Macromolecular X-ray Diffraction Facility with Rigaku rotating anode X-ray generator and area detector and a GRYPHON liquid-handling crystallization robot.

Mass Spectrometry Facility

Mass Spectrometry Facility includes a Bruker microflex MALDI-ToF mass spectrometer for peptide and protein analyses, and Agilent 6890/5973 GC mass spectrometers.

Molecular Computational Core Facility

Molecular Computational Core Facility for homology modeling, Monte Carlo calculations, molecular dynamics simulations, docking, etc.

UM Genomics Core

The Genomics Core Facility at the University of Montana is a multi-user and service core laboratory providing genetic and genomic resources to researchers at universities, institutions, and government laboratories on the state and national levels. The newly expanded core includes technical support in molecular biology applications, Sanger DNA sequencing, Illumina library preparation, Illumina Sequencing on the MiSeq™.

EMtrix Electron Microscopy Facility

EMtrix Electron Microscopy Facility is a remotely accessible electron microscopy facility located within the Division of Biological Sciences at The University of Montana. Our facility supports diverse research and teaching activities that require the use of transmission or scanning electron microscopy (TEM, SEM).
