Open Graph

Open Graph (OG) is a technology that social networks like Facebook and Twitter use to pull data from your site when your site's URL is shared on those platforms.

In Cascade, you can specify an image that will be used when a particular page is shared on social media platforms. The Facebook developer page has an informative article on recommended image sizes for Open Graph images. We use their recommendation of 1200 pixels wide by  630 pixels high.

How to Set an Open Graph Image

  1. Upload the image to Cascade - recommended size 1200 px wide x 630 px high.
  2. Copy the image URL.
    1. Select the image in the Asset Tree (the directory on the left side of the Cascade interface).
    2.  In the upper right-hand area of the Cascade interface, select More > Live and copy the URL in the address bar of that page.
  3. Navigate to the page where you want to set the Open Graph image and select Edit.
  4. Click on the Metadata tab at the top of the editing window.
  5. In the Open Graph Image URL field, paste in the image URL.
