Picture of UM Campus: Heating Plant

The energy and utilities arm of Facilities Services encompasses the following:

Energy Conservation
Effective management and reduction of energy consumption.

Heating and Cooling
The steam-based heating plant serves the main UM Campus while operation of the central building computer control system which manages the HVAC systems in major buildings on campus.

Storm Water
Pollution of surface waters due to storm water runoff is of great concern. As rainwater drains off the land and into the storm water system, it picks up various pollutants and contaminants.

Drinking Water Quality Control
The annual sampling of campus drinking water to ensure compliance with Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regulations.
