Immunology Research at the University of Montana
Immunology research at the University of Montana is an interdepartmental program carried out in state-of-the-art laboratories housed in the Integrative Microbiology and Biochemistry Program of the Division of Biological Sciences and the Center for Environmental Health Sciences in the Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Our research interests are focused in the frontiers of immunology and range from immunotoxicology to microbial pathogenesis; from asthma to immune synapse formation.
Why the University of Montana for Immunology Research?
Many institutions offer immunology research programs, but the collegial atmosphere and geographic location make us unique. We have an energetic and collaborative faculty carrying out cutting-edge immunology and immunotoxicology research in state-of-the-art facilities on a campus Rolling Stone called “the most scenic campus in America”. We have extensive interactions with the NIH Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Rocky Mountain Labs 45 miles south in Hamilton, MT. with which we share the NIH Graduate Partnership Program (GPP). We are also part of the NSF Montana Ecology of Infectious Diseases (M-EID) program. We combine top-notch research with unparalleled recreational opportunities that exist just outside the lab. Outside magazine listed the University of Montana “among the top 10 colleges nationally for combining academic quality and outdoor recreation"
