Coaching for UM employees
Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused conversation designed to help you identify what you want, build on your strengths, and find your own path forward. Based on the Erickson Solution-Focused Coaching approach, coaches use thoughtful questions and active listening to help you explore possibilities, recognize what is already working, and identify practical steps toward your goals.
Who might benefit from coaching?
Coaching can be helpful when you are looking to:
-
Work through a challenge or change
-
Clarify your goals or priorities
- Think through a career or professional development goal
-
Build confidence or try something new
-
Develop new skills or strengthen existing ones
-
Improve relationships, communication, or collaboration
-
Turn an idea or possibility into a plan
You don't need to have a specific problem to solve. Coaching can also be a space to step back, think differently, and focus on what you want next.
Interested in Coaching?
UM employees have the opportunity to meet with one of our two trained coaches at no cost. Start by scheduling an introductory discovery session with one of the coaches. This first conversation is a chance to discuss what you'd like to work on, learn more about coaching, and decide whether coaching feels like a good fit for you.
Coaching sessions are typically 45 minutes. The number and frequency of sessions depend on your goals and interests. This is flexible and can be determined after your first meeting and adjusted along the way as needed.
