Nordic Ski Trails

Lubrecht has more than 12 miles of ski trails, with some loops sharing sections. Lubrecht partners with the Missoula Nordic Ski Club for trail grooming.

Trail grooming may begin on the first Monday after Thanksgiving, if snow conditions allow. Trail conditions vary depending on snow, temperature and weather. Please ski within your ability as trails can become icy.

Dogs are allowed on the Lubrecht Forest trails. Please keep them under voice control and leashed in the parking areas.

Hunting Block Management

Hunting on Lubrecht Experimental Forest and Bandy Experimental Ranch is allowed pursuant to the applicable rules and seasons set forth by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks. Hunt In Montana | Montana FWP

Hiking, Biking, and Horseback Riding

Lubrecht Forest is open to the public year round for hiking, biking, and horseback riding on our road system. Bikes and horses not allowed on groomed ski trails during winter months. Trail access for horses is available via the Garnet Range Road parking lot.
