If you answered YES to those questions, you could be eligible for the University of Montana Skaggs School of Pharmacy GrizRx Assurance Program. The GrizRx Assurance Program is open to high school seniors who are applying to the University of Montana and are interested in pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
The application opens August 21, 2023 and the deadline is April 1, 2024 for Autumn 2024 admitted freshman.
Students in the GrizRx Assurance Program complete their pre-pharmacy requirements with advice and support from faculty in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy. Up to 10 seats in our first-year PharmD class are reserved for students enrolled in the GrizRx Assurance Program.

GrizRx Assurance Program Information
- Unweighted high school GPA above 3.4
- Admitted to the University of Montana as an incoming freshman
- Submit GrizRx AP application (see button below) by deadline - April 1, 2023
- Dedicated pharmacy faculty advisors who will provide individualized support during the pre-pharmacy program
- Opportunities for pharmacy job shadowing or volunteer work connected with the UM Skaggs School of Pharmacy
- Opportunities to do research with Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty
- GrizRx Assurance Program scholarships available
- Assistance identifying and completing applications for other scholarships and financial support
After you have been admitted to the University of Montana, complete the GrizRx Assurance Program application (button below) to be considered for the program. Once you are accepted, you will be assigned a pharmacy faculty advisor who will help you select and register for UM courses.
In order to claim your seat in the pharmacy program, you must
- Complete the pre-pharmacy curriculum within two years
- Complete all pharmacy prerequisite courses with at least a C- grade
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Completion of 20 hours of observation, preferably in a pharmacy
- Submit a PharmCAS application and complete an interview
