REACH Curriculum Activities

teachers engaged in an experiment

Research Education on Air and Cardiovascular Health provides guided inquiry based curriculum activities and corresponding teacher materials designed to supplement the air quality research component of the program. The curriculum provides background information on:

  • Particulate air quality specifically PM2.5.
  • The relationship between PM2.5 and respiratory health.
  • The relationship between PM2.5 and cardiovascular health.
  • Radon
  • Carbon Monoxide.
  • Experimental/research design.
  • Population Health.

The guided inquiry nature of the curriculum activities incorporates the scientific process into the delivery of materials. This added exposure to the processes of science in conjunction with exposure to basic air quality information should assist students with the research component of the program.
