  • Two student survey employees

    Student Opportunities - National Park Service Surveying, Temporary Work

    ITRR and its research partners (RRC Associates and OTAK) have a contract with the National Park Service to study visitor use and social issues to help improve park planning and management. This job would involve  work for ITRR and/or one of our partners and traveling to National Parks and surveying visitors.Travel, lodging and per diem meals are included. Pay is up to $20/hour. Work is typically a 7-12 day time commitment, per park, including travel. Multiple parks may be available. Contact us for more information about dates!

  • Students working in an office

    Student Opportunities - Part-Time/Work Study/Internship

    Field Positions: This is a surveyor position in the greater Missoula area that includes administering an on-site survey to out of state travelers at gas stations and the airport to better understand travelers to the state. A mail back survey is given to the participant to be sent back to ITRR and analyzed with the on-site data. More information about data collection can be found here: Statewide Nonresident Travel Survey: Survey Methods & Analysis. A vehicle will be provided for student surveyors that is located on UM campus.

    On-campus work: This work would include preparing mail back envelopes and entering data from the mail back surveys. On campus work could also include designing surveys for various projects and learning how to analyze data. These opportunities could potentially be used in conjunction with a capstone project or internship.

    Pay for these positions is up to $17/hour.

  • Surveyors

    Positions Open to the Public - In Montana

    Surveyor positions are also open to the public across the state of Montana. This involves administering on-site surveys at gas stations and airports to better understand travelers to the state. More information about this data collection can be found here: Statewide Nonresident Travel Survey: Survey Methods & Analysis. Surveyors must have access to a car and reliable internet to submit timesheets and travel documentation. Surveyors will be compensated for miles driven in their personal vehicle.

    Pay for this position is up to $17/hour with compensation for personal vehicle use.
