Lou Villemez - Director of Legal Services
Lou Villemez grew up in Laramie, Wyoming and attended undergraduate school at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Lou received his Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1993 and after one year working at a Washington, D.C. law firm, has enjoyed his career in non-profit public interest law. He worked a total of 13 years in Legal Services Association offices, culminating with the Deputy Director of Litigation for Montana Legal Services Association. He also worked for more than 12 years with the Montana Public Defender and the Montana Aging Services Division. He is the Director of Legal Services for the Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM).
Jessie Lundberg - Associate Attorney
Jessie Lundberg obtained her J.D. at the University of Montana School of Law in 2008, following a bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2002, also at UM. After law school, she clerked for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, and has then spent the past decade working on consumer protection and tenants’ rights. She completed a two-year Equal Justice Works fellowship at Montana Legal Services Association, during which time she developed their self-help bankruptcy program that continues to assist low-income Montanans today. Following that fellowship, she entered private practice in 2012, and has served countless Montanans struggling with debt, credit report errors, illegal mortgage servicing and foreclosure practices, illegal landlord practices, and general unfair and deceptive business practices. She joined the ASUM Legal Services team as an associate attorney in 2019, where she continues to assist students with consumer finance, landlord-tenant issues, and other legal needs.
Elizabeth Rademacher - Legal Support Staff
Elizabeth Rademacher is your first point of contact with ASUM Legal Services. She received her undergraduate degree in History from the University of Montana. Prior to working at ASUM Legal Services, she served two years as an AmeriCorps member with the Justice for Montanans Project, with Montana Legal Services Association and the Office of Consumer Protection and Victim Services. She is interested in attending law school in the future.
Brenna Saffel - Law School Student Intern
Brenna Saffel is currently a third-year law student and intern at ASUM Legal Services. She received her undergraduate degree in History and Psychology, followed by a year of service work in Chicago as a City Year student coach. Brenna works as a family law paralegal, fitness instructor, and summer legal volunteer for the Clark Fork Coalition. She is interested in pursuing a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation following law school.
Calyn Hitchcock - Law School Student Intern
Calyn Hitchcock is currently a third-year law student and an intern with ASUM Legal Services. She grew up in Florida and attended undergraduate school at the University of Montana. She is a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and OUTlaws. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering for the DPHHS estate planning clinics, crocheting, and caring for her indoor orange tree. She has previously interned for the Montana Legal Services Association and the Office of the Public Defender. Calyn is interested in a career in legal aid and estate planning.
