Summer Camps & Programs

The University of Montana welcomes camps, programs, conferences and special events to utilize the campus during the summer months. Summer in Western Montana is one of the most beautiful times of the year, and UM offers summer guests a beautiful campus, a vibrant local community and easy access to outdoor recreation. A river really does run though it (right next to campus) and we invite you to come start your adventure.

If you are looking to bring a summer camp or program onto campus and keep your program centralized in one beautiful location, the University of Montana Conference & Event Services team can help you plan your event from start to finish. We help coordinate housing, meals, venues, transportation, recreation opportunities and campus activities! Using local and sustainable ingredients, many from our on-campus gardens, Campus Dining delivers delicious, chef-crafted meals tailored to your event. Share a wholesome meal and experience all UM has to offer. Our staff will work directly with you to accommodate special dietary preferences and ensure your experience exceeds your expectations.

Food Zoo

Campus Dining's Food Zoo, located in the Emma B. Lommasson Center, offers an all-you-care-to-eat dining experience to satisfy your group's appetite and accommodate your budget. Our chef's variety of dishes changes daily, allowing you and your guests to experience flavors from around the world or traditional favorites. The Food Zoo provides something nutritious for everyone so you can get on your way to your next activity. The dining room is open Monday-Friday, 11AM-1:30PM for lunch during the summer, and will open for additional meals with a group reservation. Please note: group reservations booked on May 25, July 3rd and/or 4th will incur an additional surcharge due to holiday scheduling.

UM Catering

UM Catering offers full services food and beverage options on and off campus to UM guests. From continental breakfast to a served banquet to field trip meals to-go, UM Catering offers exceptional dining experiences to suit your unique occasion.

Eateries

Campus offers multiple eateries for coffee or grab and go meals. The University Center offers a full coffee shop, bakery and convenience store, Pizza Hut, and Jus Chilln' juice shop.

Whether you are selecting overnight rooms conveniently located with UM Housing on campus or one of Missoula's many local hotels, we have accommodation options for all types of groups.

Stay on Campus

From mid-May to the end of July, UM opens up its residence halls for groups needing an economical and opportune choice for an overnight stay. Certain dates during the summer have been known to be especially popular, so we recommend that you book your program well in advance to ensure availability. Most Resident Halls offer double or single occupancy rooms with communal bathrooms. Pantzer Hall offers a pod room arrangement with suite bathrooms. Overnight sleeping rooms are not equipped with air-conditioning, but your group will be so busy learning, exploring and growing during the day, they will only be in their rooms to sleep.

Stay in the Woods!

Lubrecht State Experimental Forest offers a rustic alternative to hotels. Just 30 miles from Missoula along the Blackfoot River, Lubrecht has miles of recreational trails for hiking or cross-country skiing. Stay in a cabin, boxcar, apartment or lodge. Meals available.

Stay in a Hotel

Missoula offers many hotels within walking distance of campus. UM also offers a pay for service transportation to groups staying further from campus or who want to offer a hotel to campus shuttle service.

As guest on campus you get exclusive access to numerous opportunities to learn, relax and have fun. Explore our list of campus amenities & activities and recreation opportunities. Just need a Registration System? Our team can work with you to build a custom Registration System that your participants can use to register and pay for your program. This is a pay to use service that CES will administer.

Missoula International Airport is only a 15 minute drive to campus and offers many direct flights.

Transportation:

UM offers transportation services for hire to get your group where they need to go in the city. Beach Transportation offers school bus and motor coach service for outside of the city.

Parking:

There is a daily charge to park on campus and Monday-Friday. You can have this cost added to your invoice or have individuals pay though our online portal.
