Study Abroad Tuition Waiver
University of Montana is excited to announce a new tuition waiver for fee-paying (study abroad, direct) international students coming from UM’s partner universities effective the beginning of fall 2024 semester. This is an excellent opportunity for UM Partner University students to attend UM at a discounted rate. Any fully admitted non-degree seeking partner university student nominated by their home university would receive the discounted rate below (amounting to a $10,901.80 discount per academic year). It is valid for a maximum of one year during the fall and spring semester of a student’s study period at UM. In addition to the reduced tuition, the student would be responsible for mandatory fees as well as the International Student Fee and New Student Fee, and room and board. Please see below:

*Note: International students have the option to purchase or refuse the UM Student Health Insurance plan but are required by UM to have and maintain major medical insurance for the duration of their program at UM. J-1 (exchange students) are required to have medical insurance that meets US Department of State standards. F-1 (fee-paying students) are required to abide by the UM policy to have and maintain major medical insurance, but does not specify a particular level of coverage. It has been determined by the Global Engagement Office in conjunction with Curry Health Center and the Office of Admissions that students must show they have the financial ability to pay for the UM Student Health Insurance plan in case they fail to provide proof of alternate coverage.
How to Apply
Students from eligible UM Partner Universities below must be nominated to UM by their home university’s international office coordinator to partake in this opportunity. Partner University exchange students must first apply through their home institution; students cannot apply directly to the University of Montana. Please contact your home university international office for details on this process and how to apply.
