Temporary Housing
Due to the increased interest in the residence halls for Fall 2022 some students will initially be assigned to Temporary Housing. Temporary Housing will be set up in the study lounges in the residence halls.
Students will be moved out of Temporary Housing as spaces open throughout the summer and once fall semester starts based on their assignment date. When students are assigned to a Temporary Housing space they initially will be charged the semester rate of $2,554 (standard double rate). When they are given a permanent housing assignment the standard double rate will be credited and they will be charged according to the room type assigned with a 20% discount. If a student is moved out of Temporary Housing before August 22, the initial charge for Temporary Housing will be credited and they will be charged according to the room type for the full semester.
Students assigned to Temporary Housing will be given free storage until they are moved to a permanent housing assignment (as long as it is available).
UM Housing will move students out of Temporary Housing as quickly as possible. Moves from the fall waitlist will not start until after all students are moved out of Temporary Housing.
