Residence Halls Close at noon on May 9, 2026

All residents must move out, clean their room, and complete a checkout by noon on Saturday, May 9 unless they have made prior arrangements for extended spring or summer housing. 

  • All residents must attend the mandatory end of semester floor meeting on Thursday, April 23.  
  • Residents must complete the self-checkout process in the myHousingPortal and return their room access card (If applicable) when checking out.
  • Do not return your card or complete the self-checkout process before you are actually leaving as your access will be deactivated.
  • Additional fees will be assessed if room cards are not returned and/or a proper checkout is not completed.

Checkout Process Details

Extended & Summer Housing

Students who need to stay a few extra nights or need summer housing can sign up now in their myHousingPortal. For more information on extended spring or summer housing see our Summer Housing page.

Summer Storage

UM Housing offers convenient and reasonably priced storage units located on campus in the Residence Halls for students to rent over the summer. Students must have a completed fall housing application to be eligible to rent summer storage. For more information on summer storage see our Storage page.
