Enrollment
All eligible employees are required to enroll and elect coverage within 30 days of hire or date of eligibility, even if you choose to waive coverage. Important: You must enroll within 30 days of your hire or eligibility date, even if you choose to waive coverage. Missing this window means waiting until the next annual enrollment period or a qualifying life event.
Enrollment is completed through the MUS Choices website. Log in using your UM NetID.
You may also enroll eligible family members for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and AD&D coverage. Eligible family members include:
- Your legal spouse, as defined under Montana law
- Dependent children under age 26, including natural children, stepchildren, children placed in your home for adoption before age 18, children for whom you have court-ordered custody, and children for whom you are the legal guardian
After initial enrollment at hire, changes to coverage may only be made during annual enrollment or following a qualifying life event. Qualifying events include marriage, birth or adoption of a child, and involuntary loss of eligibility for other health coverage. Following a qualifying event, you have 63 days to make changes and submit required documentation.
