Each year, students and faculty in UM's Montana Model UN program:

• Organize and staff the Montana Model UN High School Conference, which brings more than 250 Montana and Idaho high school students to UM for two days. 
• Send a team of 12 UM students to the National Model UN collegiate conference in New York.
• Sponsor campus and community presentations on international affairs.

For more than 55 years, MMUN has challenged students to reflect on important international issues, understand the inner workings of the UN, and develop strong research, writing, public speaking, and negotiation skills. By bringing high school students to UM and sending UM students to collegiate competitions, MMUN contributes to the creation of a more informed local, national, and international community.
