PSCI 337: Model United Nations

The Model United Nations (PSCI 337) class is taught by the MMUN Faculty Advisor.

The class is offered each fall semester.  Students in the class learn about diplomacy and the UN and engage in in-class simulations of General Assembly and Security Council debates.  They also plan and staff the two-day MMUN High School Conference.  At the end of the semester, a team of students from the class is selected to represent UM at a collegiate Model UN conference.

PSCI 337 is a service-learning course.  It is open to students with at least sophomore standing, as well as freshmen in the Honors College and freshmen who attended MMUN or other Model UN conferences in high school.

The class is excellent preparation for a career in public policy, international affairs, and high school teaching.
