Science Bytes
In partnership with the Franklin Institute, spectrUM and the GSK Science in the Summer™ teaches elementary students the core principles of science and seeks to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning through fun, engaging activities. The program also works to equalize educational opportunities and mitigate the effects of summer learning loss. spectrUM works with SciNation to bring free, hands-on science to the Flathead Reservation and branches of the Missoula Public Library.
In the summer of 2026, this program will invite children to learn new skills and critical thinking as they investigate how to Be A Chemist! The activities include cosmetic chemist, forensic chemist, materials chemist, medicinal chemist, and water chemist. A new theme will be announced for the summer of 2027.
