Montana residents should use the Apply Montana application to apply to UM. This application is free for Montana residents and allows students to apply to multiple Montana colleges at once.

Out-of-State Students: Fall 2027 Application Opens Aug. 1
The application for out-of-state students planning to attend UM starting in fall semester 2027 will open Aug. 1, 2026.
Out-of-state students should use the Common App to apply to UM. The Common App allows students to apply to UM and other participating colleges and universities using one shared application.
