If you have a degree from UM, you do not need to submit an official transcript, but you do need to send an unofficial copy of your transcript to our office. Unofficial transcripts can be accessed via CyberBear. Transcripts can either be emailed to counselored@mso.umt.edu, or mailed to:

Recommendation letters are submitted online. As you work through the online application, there will be a section prompting you to enter email addresses for your reference. Enter their email addresses at this juncture and they will be instructed via email regarding online submission. MA programs: Applicants will be notified by mid-February if they have been invited to interview for a spot in the program. Group interviews typically take place at the end of February.

Doctoral programs: Applicants will be notified at the beginning of January if they have been invited to interview for a spot in the program. Group interviews are typically held at the end of January.

Final decisions will be announced to interviewees 1-2 weeks following the interview.

  • An exceptionalities course
  • Basic statistics and/or education measurement
  • Classroom Management (for those wanting to do the School Counseling Track)

Graduate non-degree students are welcome to take:

COUN 475: Forgiveness & Reconciliation (offered Spring)
