If you are submitting transcripts electronically, please select 'The University of Montana' as the recipient. If you are submitting hard copies, they can be mailed to:

If you are being asked to provide an email address for transcript submission, please enter counselored@mso.umt.edu.
If you have a degree from UM, you do not need to submit an official transcript, but you do need to send an unofficial copy of your transcript to our office. Unofficial transcripts can be accessed via CyberBear. Transcripts can either be emailed to counselored@mso.umt.edu, or mailed to:

Recommendation letters are submitted online. As you work through the online application, there will be a section prompting you to enter email addresses for your reference. Enter their email addresses at this juncture and they will be instructed via email regarding online submission. If reference would like to submit hard copies of the letters, those can be emailed preference) to counselored@mso.umt.edu, or mailed to:

MA programs: Applicants will be notified by mid-February if they have been invited to interview for a spot in the program. Group interviews typically take place at the end of February.
Doctoral programs: Applicants will be notified at the beginning of January if they have been invited to interview for a spot in the program. Group interviews are typically held at the end of January.
Final decisions will be announced to interviewees 1-2 weeks following the interview.

- Developmental psychology or equivalent
- Abnormal psychology or child and adolescent psychological disorders
- An exceptionalities course
- Basic statistics and/or education measurement
- Classroom Management (for those wanting to do the School Counseling Track)
Graduate non-degree students are welcome to take:
COUN 511: Theories & Techniques of Counseling (offered Fall)
COUN 475: Forgiveness & Reconciliation (offered Spring)
We also offer a workshop series each semester for which UM students can receive graduate credit. For questions regarding registration and current workshop details, please email counselored@mso.umt.edu.
