Athletic Academic Services within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is searching for a graduate student-athlete development intern for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Graduate Student-Athlete Development Intern supports the Student-Athlete Academic Services office in designing, coordinating and implementing programs that promote personal, academic career, and leadership development of student-athletes. This position provides hands-on experience in higher education, athletics administration, student affairs, and career development while assisting with initiatives that enhance the overall student-athlete experience.
The objective of the Development Intern program is to offer support for the overall development and well being of student-athletes in their pursuit of academic, athletic, and professional goals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, promotion, and execution of student-athlete development programs, workshops, and events
- Support initiatives focused on leadership development, career readiness, community engagement, NIL, and life skills
- Provide guidance to student-athletes about time management, organization, and academic planning.
- Proactively connect and guide student-athletes with on campus resources
- Individual academic meetings with student-athletes and monitoring academic eligibility progress
- Assess & communicate with student-athletes what they can improve upon academically
- Learn and understand University curriculum requirements
- Communicate daily/weekly with athletic academic advisors, tutors, mentors, and sport assigned coaches
- Complete academic meeting note reports on assigned students
- Daily/weekly/biweekly/monthly intensive group or individual meetings with student-athletes as needed
- Proactively connect and guide student-athletes with on campus resources
- Create promotional materials and manage communication through email, social media, and other digital platforms
- Assist with COLS 162/163/362 student-athlete courses
- Weekly meetings with supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Enrolled in a UM graduate program – enrolled in a minimum of six credits each semester
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adhere to NCAA and FERPA regulations
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations and fostering an inclusive environment
- 10 month, in person/on campus, commitment that starts and concludes with the academic year
- Compensation: Tuition Waiver (15-20 hours) – available for in-state or out of state/non residents
- Fees are not included in the waiver compensation
- If you have a scholarship or position on campus that already provides a tuition waiver, it cannot be combined or adjusted with our tuition waiver to cover additional costs
- Hourly pay will not be offered as a form of compensation – the tuition waiver is the only form of compensation being offered for the year

Alpha Phi is hiring for a part-time live in-house director to oversee the day-to-day operation of the chapter house including management of personnel (if applicable), coordination of contractors, vendors and service providers, while staying within the provided budget. The House Director will also serve as a liaison with the University and hostess to the chapter house. This position is ideally suited to a graduate student. Provided amenities include: private bedroom and bathroom, all utilities, meal service during academic year, parking spot and an $18,000 stipend, paid out bi-weekly. The Mansfield Center is recruiting graduate students for Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) positions to work this spring and summer on international and domestic programs funded by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Defense.
GTAs will work with international students, educators, scholars, and U.S. high school students, to facilitate cultural and academic program goals. GTAs are paid $17/hour in addition to overtime. Travel within Montana is required, and out-of-state travel may be required. Out-of-state locations vary by program, but destinations include Charleston, S.C., New York City, and Washington D.C.
We are looking for graduate students who are highly motivated, responsible, have excellent communication skills, are team-oriented, and are interested in working with people from diverse international and cultural backgrounds. Additional responsibilities and program dates are outlined in the attached position description.

The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center seeks an international affairs research intern to support grant writing proposals and other areas of focus. The work will include research and writing to support funding proposals submitted by the Center to government and private organizations. Subject areas include: U.S. government policy and priorities in Southeast Asia; natural resource challenges in Southeast Asia; U.S.-China relations; engagement with high school or university audiences; and other topics mutually-agreed upon that the intern might suggest or that may arise as a potential funding opportunity. Available for academic credit upon request.
Dates of Internship: Summer 2020, with a minimum six-week commitment. May extend through the academic year upon request. Compensation may be available for interns extending into Fall 2020.

The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center seeks an intern to work in collaboration with staff to manage our social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The Mansfield Center works to foster globally minded leaders of integrity and to promote ethics in public policy in the model of Senator Mike Mansfield. We promote programs in international engagement with a focus on build mutual understanding through citizen diplomacy, with a focus on Asia, though we currently work in more than 60 countries.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and develop relevant, creative, thoughtful content related to our mission, in areas such as: alumni story spotlights, sharing thought articles, Mansfield history, providing education about partner countries, sharing work on project partners, international holidays, diplomacy, ethics, public policy, building mutual understanding, and more.
- Explore new ways to tell our story and thus enhance and expand our engagement.
- With staff guidance, respond to inquiries in inboxes across social channels, engage with comments left on posts, monitor hashtag use, and track performance of posts.
Compensation: Available for academic credit in Summer 2020 if desired. Available for financial compensation in Fall 2020 for those interested in a continuing appointment.
Dates of Internship: Summer 2020, with a minimum six-week commitment. May extend through the academic year upon request.
