Career Building Resources
Graduate students are encouraged to explore the website and attend the events offered by the Office of Organizational Learning and Development (OOLD), especially their Professional Development Series. On that website, students on RA or TA contracts, as employees, can access a free subscription to LinkedIn Learning, a large repository of videos and short courses on a wide range of topics. You can develop specialized skills that will augment your professional development and career success. You will login with your NetID (Single-Sign-On).
Graduate students can and should access the resources and support of the on-campus Office of Experiential Learning and Career Success, where they can attend workshops on CV and resumes, as well as find information about internship opportunities.
In addition, the Graduate School provides access to several online career development portals (described below), which can be accessed through your email or NetID.
UM graduate students are encouraged to take advantage of their free membership to the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD). The NCFDD is a nationally-recognized organization that provides career development and mentoring resources to help faculty grow in their careers and find balance and success in their work lives.
