Employee Assistance Program

The Montana University System (MUS) is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2023, Deer Oaks EAP Services is our new provider for the MUS Employee Assistance Program (EAP).  Deer Oaks will provide EAP services for all employees and their household members.  The EAP benefit covers 7 confidential counseling visits per issue, at no cost to employees and their household members. 

Deer Oaks EAP has considerable expertise and clinical knowledge possessed by its clinicians and offers numerous convenient locations.  Deer Oaks clinicians are well versed in helping clients of all ages, from young children up to the elderly.

The EAP can assist with many different types of real-life issues.  Among these are stress, depression, anxiety, workplace difficulties, substance abuse, marital problems, family or parenting conflicts, grief, violence, and unhealthy lifestyles.  The EAP can also provide tools & referrals for, and additional assistance with:

  • Childcare and Eldercare Resources and Referrals
  • Vacation Planning
  • Financial and Legal Services
  • Free Interactive Online Simple Will
  • Retiree Assistance
  • ID Recovery
  • Credit Report
  • Reimbursed Ride (cab, Uber, RideShare, Lyft)

Deer Oaks EAP is available when you need it, 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.  Deer Oaks will also coordinate with the MUS’ Medical Plan Administrator (BC/BS of MT) for cases that are not EAP appropriate and require treatment under your medical benefit.
