UM Banner Advisory Committee

The UM Banner Advisory Committee (UBAC) is an IT Governance advisory subcommittee for IT administrative systems (primarily Ellucian-Banner).

Purpose: The UBAC committee provides oversight for the development and integration of the University’s enterprise systems. The committee also sets priorities for the IT Enterprise Technology group to request and prioritize project work. The UBAC also functions as an advisory group for the Deputy CIO of Enterprise & Strategic Technology and for IT leadership. 

Specifically, UBAC's purpose is:

  1. To provide oversight and direction for the enterprise systems that support the University’s mission, objectives, and priorities for action.
  2. To establish priorities and sequencing for development and integration initiatives.
  3. To make recommendations regarding development, funding, resource allocation, and policy.
  4. To champion a common data model, and other common infrastructure where needed, as well as best practices in central and distributed enterprise systems.
