Practicum Agency Directory
The Practicum Agency Directory highlights agencies and organizations where University of Montana social work students have previously completed practicum experiences. The directory includes partners in Missoula, throughout Montana, across the United States, and in other locations.
This directory is intended to help students explore the range of practice settings and learning opportunities available through field education. It is not a list of currently available placements. Agency participation, placement availability, compensation, supervision, and student opportunities may change from year to year.
Current students should use Student Resources, Sonia, and the current Practicum Placement Library when exploring available placement opportunities.
Using the Directory
Agencies are grouped by broad practice area to make the directory easier to explore. Many organizations work across multiple populations or practice areas and may appear in more than one section.
The labels below reflect prior practicum experiences and do not guarantee that the same opportunity is currently available:
- [Paid] - The agency has previously offered a paid practicum opportunity, stipend, grant, or other compensation.
- [EBP] - The agency has experience supporting an Employment-Based Practicum.
- Virtual/Remote - The agency has previously supported a placement in which most student work was completed remotely. Some placements may also include in-person activities, supervision, or site visits.

This directory lists agencies in Missoula and throughout Montana where our students have completed practicum requirements. We also have extensive partnerships with agencies in other U.S. states and internationally, especially through remote placements. This list is not comprehensive - for a broader list of placement opportunities, use the Sonia practicum placement software.
Click any agency name to visit its website. Practice areas are listed for navigation only; many agencies serve multiple populations and offer learning across micro, mezzo, and macro practice. The specific practicum role is shaped by the learning agreement, supervision, and student interests, not the category listed here.
