Yes. All first-year traditional-aged first-year students and transfer students, including those who do Summer Launch will need to complete the self-paced, online New Student Orientation and the Big Sky Experience week of welcome. New Student Orientation is entirely online and Fall 2024 incoming students will get access to this platform in Summer 2024.
In addition to completing New Student Orientation online, all traditional-aged first-year students are expected to attend the in-person week of welcome - the Big Sky Experience, happening in-person from August 19-23. Transfer students are not required to attend the in-person fall orientation in August, but you are welcome to if you would like. More information for transfer students can be found on UM's orientation website.
