How to Scan at an NFC Terminal

Near-field Communication and Mobile Ticketing

Near-field communication (NFC) is a short-range wireless connectivity technology that uses magnetic field induction to enable communication between devices when they're touched together or brought within a few centimeters of each other.

Within the Adams Center and Washington-Grizzly Stadium, NFC is used by the scanners and terminals to scan tickets. Once a ticket is placed within an NFC compatible device’s (Smartphone) wallet app (Google Wallet/Pay for Android, Apple Wallet/Pay for iPhone), and the “Hold to Reader” icon appears, your tickets are ready to be scanned.

You can check to see if a device is capable of using NFC by looking in your device’s settings. Here is a link to our tutorials to activate your NFC: iPhone-NFC     Android-NFC

Step 1: Download your tickets to your Digital Wallet. For help, here is a link to our tutorials on how to download your tickets: iPhone-Download Tickets         Android-Download Tickets

Step 2: Open the App and Tickets

Step 3: Hold the device up to the Terminal/Scanner.
