Eligibility Overview


 When you Complete Part 1  What you can expect

by February 5

 Applications with Part 1 completed by February 5 will be eligible for Roommate Matching and Phase 1 of Room Selection

February 6 - March 30

 Applications with Part 1 completed during this timeframe will not be eligible for Roommate Matching. These students will be eligible for Phase 2 of Room Selection.

after March 30

Applications with Part 1 completed after March 30 will not be eligible for Roommate Matching or Room Selection. UM Housing will assign a room based on availability.

Roommate Matching Deadlines

 When you Complete Part 1  What you can expect

by February 5
  • Roommate Matching (Part 2) opens on December 10 at 2 pm
  • Roommate Matching closes on February 10 at 2 pm

after February 5

 You are no longer eligible to participate in Roommate Matching.

Roommate Selection Deadlines

 When you Complete Part 1  What you can expect

by February 5
  • Room Selection-Phase 1 (Part 3) opens on February 10 at 2 pm
  • Room Selection-Phase 1 closes on April 30 at 5 pm

February 6 - March 30
  • Room Selection-Phase 2 (Part 3) opens on March 31 at 2 pm
  • Room Selection-Phase 2 closes on April 30 at 5 pm

after March 30
  • Not eleigible for Room Selection.
  • UM Housing will assign a room based on availability.

Additional Information

Room renewal is not part of the 2027–2028 process. Returning students will participate in the housing selection process, and application completion date will determine which housing opportunities students are eligible for.
