Admission Application Instructions
- Applying for admission to the graduate program in Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures is a two-step process:
First: Complete the Online Application (https://gradapply.umt.edu/register/gradapply)
ADMISSION APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Fill out the online application There are three steps involved in the application process.
- Fill out and submit the Graduate Program portion of the application that comes up when you click the above link. An email will be sent to you with a link to setup your account and finish your application.
- Click the link in your email and complete the rest of the application fields and submit.
- You will be directed to your application status portal. You will be able to pay your application fee and upload supplemental materials on this page. You will also receive another email with a link to this page so you can log in later and complete these steps and track your application progress.
As part of this process, applicants must do the following:
- international students submit TOEFL scores.
- Self-report all colleges and universities attended (including grade point average).
- 3 Letters of recommendations.
- Upload a letter of intent in the foreign language.
- Upload a writing sample in the foreign language such as an academic paper, corrected by a professor.
- Upload a writing sample in English.
- Upload resume
- Pay the application fee.
Second: Request Official Scores and Transcripts:
- International students may request that official TOEFL scores be sent to the University of Montana using code 4489.
- Request that official transcripts be sent to the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures from all colleges and universities you have attended (excluding University of Montana) Transcripts may also be transmitted electronically through the National Student Clearinghouse.
Note: admission requirements may vary from program to program.
Admission Deadlines
- The Department is not accepting applications for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017.
