Admissions

Admission Application Instructions

Applying for admission to the graduate program in Public Health is a two-step process:

First: Complete the online application.

Fill out the online application. There are three steps involved in the application process.

  1. Fill out and submit the Graduate Program portion of the application that comes up when you click the above link. An email will be sent to you with a link to setup your account and finish your application.
  2. Click the link in your email and complete the rest of the application fields and submit.
  3. You will be directed to your application status portal. You will be able to pay your application fee and upload supplemental materials on this page. You will also receive another email with a link to this page so you can log in later and complete these steps and track your application progress.

As part of this process, applicants must do the following:

  1. Self-report TOEFL scores (for international students only)
  2. Self-report all colleges and universities attended (including grade point average).
  3. 3 Letters of recommendation.
  4. Upload a personal statement.
  5. Upload a curriculum vita or resume.
  6. Pay the application fee.

Second: Request official scores and transcripts

  1. Request that official TOEFL scores be sent to the University of Montana using code 4489. (for international students only)
  2. Request that official transcripts be sent to the Public Health Department from all colleges and universities you have attended (unofficial University of Montana transcripts will be accepted). Transcripts may also be transmitted electronically through the National Student Clearinghouse.

Admission Deadlines

MPH:

  • Fall semester – Deadline for all application materials is March 1. 
  • Spring semester – Deadline for all application materials is September 1.
  • Summer Session - Deadline for all application materials is March 1. 

Late applications may be submitted after the deadlines.  However, they may not be considered if available positions have been filled.

PhD:

PhD students can start the program during the fall or spring semesters. 

  • For the fall semester, the application deadline is January 15. 
  • For the spring semester, the application deadline is September 1.

CPH & CERPB:

  • Rolling Admission - completed applications due at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the semester.
