ADMISSION APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Applying for admission to the graduate program in Environmental Studies is a three-step process:

First: Complete the Online Application

Fill out the online application. There are three steps involved in the application process.

  1. Fill out and submit the Graduate Program portion of the application that comes up when you click the above link. An email will be sent to you with a link to setup your account and finish your application.
  2. Click the link in your email and complete the rest of the application fields and submit.
  3. You will be directed to your application status portal. You will be able to pay your application fee and upload supplemental materials on this page. You will also receive another email with a link to this page so you can log in later and complete these steps and track your application progress.

As part of this process, applicants must do the following:

  1. Self-report all colleges and universities attended (including grade point average)
  2. 3 Letters of recommendation.
  3. Upload resume.
  4. Pay the application fee.

Second: Request Official Scores and Transcripts:In

  1. Request that official transcripts be sent to the Environmental Studies program from all colleges and universities you have attended (excluding University of Montana)  Transcripts may also be transmitted electronically through the National Student Clearinghouse.

Third: Complete EVST Graduate Program application form here.

  1. If you have trouble accessing this form, please access this link from Internet Explorer). 
    1. When complete, save the form as a WORD doc and upload on Page 7 – Additional Information – of the online Graduate School application form.
    2. When appropriate, also upload either, or both, an expository writing sample for English TA applicants, and an environmental/nature writing sample for environmental writing focus applicants. Upload either or both as "Document"on Page 7 - Additional Information - of the online Graduate School application form. 

ADMISSION DEADLINES

  • Fall semester - Priority will be given to complete application packets received by January 15. Complete application packets received after this date will be considered on a space available basis. 
  • Spring semester - Rolling admissions.
